Brussels, 18 April 2023 – MVNO Europe, together with BREKO, BUGLAS, and VKU, calls on the German Bundesnetzagentur to utilize the pro-competitive potential of the spectrum allocation and strengthen consumer interests by imposing a MVNO and service provider obligation.

As the process of the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) to allocate spectrum continues, the associations MVNO Europe, BREKO (Bundesverband Breitbandkommunikation e.V.), BUGLAS (Bundesverband Glasfaseranschluss e.V.), and VKU (Verband kommunaler Unternehmen e.V.) have taken a common, pro-competitive position. In a joint position paper, the associations analyze the current distortions of competition on the German telecommunications market. Together they are calling on the Bundesnetzagentur to impose an MVNO and service provider obligation as a frequency-regulatory measure in order to promote sustainable competition on the German telecommunications market.
